Partnering with Country Coordinators and the Country Coordinating Teams
The International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP) currently has 65 Country Coordinators across a multitude of countries and territories globally. Whilst we’re remarkably proud to boast a network of incredible young leaders around the world, we want to acknowledge the challenges that can potentially risk the partnerships our Country Coordinators embark on, from both ends. In order to mitigate and ensure a healthy partnership, please find our official guidelines in partnering with our Country Coordinators below!

GUIDELINES

1. Are Country Coordinators paid members of the Organization?
Our Country Coordinators and the Country Coordinating Teams are young activists, professionals, students, and/or healthcare providers that are passionate and driven for the cause – who are unpaid volunteers. Any additional support that they may need, or you may require, can be provided by the Executive Team. If you want to explore partnership opportunities with IYAFP or a local Country Coordinating Team, reach out to us at partnerships[at]iyafp.org.
2. Is IYAFP registered or incorporated in any other country?
No. Beyond our “HQ” Organization that is registered as a 501(c)3 entity in the state of Washington DC, in the United States of America, there are no other countries where IYAFP is locally registered or incorporated.

3. Why are they not registered in-country? We can’t fund them if they’re not registered.
We understand! Whilst we wish we had the financial and physical capacity to ensure that all country chapters are incorporated, we’re not in a position to do so, without adding the burden of legal compliance to our volunteer Country Coordinators and their Country Coordinating Teams. IYAFP “HQ” is happy to act as a fiscal sponsor on behalf of Country Coordinators when necessary, to ensure transparency and accountability of the projects you may wish to fund.
4. IYAFP “HQ” can’t be the fiscal sponsor. We can only fund organizations registered in the country.
We’ve got you! There are a multitude of local organizations that would be willing to act as a fiscal sponsor for our Country Coordinators and their Country Coordinating Teams. If necessary, please feel free to reach out to us at partnerships[at]iyafp.org, to help in the coordination of identifying a local fiscal sponsor.
5. I’m interested in funding a project led by a Country Coordinator. Who do I contact?
We are delighted to be putting you in touch with the respective Country Coordinators. Please send the details and the requirements you may have, so we can set-up a group call to discuss and walk through the details together at partnerships[at]iyafp.org. An Executive Team member will be assigned to the opportunities that come through, so please make sure to keep our Executive Team in copy when communicating.
