The International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP) is excited to announce the launch of a new opportunity for young advocates and human rights defenders!
We are seeking passionate and driven individuals and organizations to pilot our Safe Abortion Advocacy Training Manual—a comprehensive tool designed to equip youth advocates with the knowledge and skills to conduct evidence-driven advocacy for safe and accessible abortion services.
Why This Manual?
The Safe Abortion Advocacy Training Manual is grounded in human rights principles and evidence-based strategies, aiming to address the barriers to safe abortion access. With this manual, we aim to empower young leaders to:
- Understand the global landscape of abortion rights and the importance of safe, legal abortion.
- Build effective, evidence-backed advocacy campaigns.
- Develop critical skills for engaging with policymakers, communities, and stakeholders.
- Combat stigma and misinformation surrounding abortion access.
Who Should Apply?
We are calling on young advocates, activists, and human rights defenders who are passionate about sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice, and are ready to take action to advance safe abortion advocacy. This opportunity is open to youth-led organizations, collectives and networks focused on reproductive health and rights.
What Does the Pilot Involve?
Selected applicants will have the opportunity to pilot the training within their networks and communities through an in-person Training of Trainers, supported by IYAFP. Participants will be expected to:
- Conduct a pilot training session using the manual.
- Provide feedback on the content, structure, and effectiveness of the manual.
- Share insights and recommendations for further improvement.
How to Apply
In order to access the full Expressions of Interest form, we are calling on interested organizations to review the Toolkit and provide initial feedback through a form. After submitting feedback, you will receive the complete instructions to apply!
