Jose Mateo Ramos Dela Cruz
Joey has a rich experience in youth leadership, advocacy and networking, SRHR and Anti-Trafficking campaigns and policy development. He works as the Youth Program Officer of theFamily Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), a member association of the International Planned Parenthood Federation- East and South East Asia and Oceania Region (IPPF- ESEAOR).
He concurrently serves as the Chairperson of United Nations Population Fund Philippines Youth Advisory Panel (UNFPA-YAP), as one of the youth leaders under IOM X – International Organization for Migration Asia Pacific and USAID Asia’s campaign to end Trafficking, and as Country Director of the International Youth Council Pilipinas (IYC Pilipinas).
Joey is actively involved in policy and program consultations, dialogues and discussions with UNFPA, ASEAN, Commission on Population of the Philippines (PopCom), National Youth Commission of the Philippines (NYC), Department (Ministry) of Health (DOH), and the 15th and 16th Congress of the Philippines, regarding issues on Youth Civic Engagement, Trafficking and Exploitation, Adolescent Pregnancy, HIV / AIDS, Philippine Development Plan, Philippine Youth Development Plan, Anti-Discrimination Bill, and the Reproductive Health Law.
Moreover, he has also served as one of the negotiators on the Colombo Declaration on Youth during the 2014 World Conference on Youth’s Intergovernmental Negotiations. During the intergovernmental negotiations, he push for priority focus on the support for SRHR, Gender and Development, Youth-friendly Healthcare Services and HIV/ AIDS into the outcome document.
